IFDA / Technomic GPO Study Underway -IFDA¿Í TechnomicÀº 2012³â 4ºÐ±â¿¡ Group Purchasing Organization¿¡ °üÇÑ ¸®Æ÷Æ®¸¦ ¹ß°£ÇÒ ¿¹Á¤ÀÔ´Ï´Ù. Group Purchasing Organization's (GPOs) continue to generate an incredible amount of industry dialogue and to assist our members, IFDA has engaged Technomic to conduct a comprehensive study on GPOs that will be distributed to all IFDA members in the 4th quarter of 2012. The research will develop a profile of likely GPO future practices, trends, and growth drivers; will develop a better understanding of manufacturer motivations and practices around GPOs; and will capture manufacturer views on the practice of price extendibility. Two "hotspot" issues to be addressed include first, the proliferation of GPOs focused on local market independent operators and how manufacturers determine which GPOs they will support. The second "hotspot" is price extendibility and issues that are created by this practice when a "segment specific" GPO extends offerings to independent operators across non-core market segments. Focus on the latter issue will include understanding the impact of this practice on distributors and how distributors can engage in the process.
